Smartphone design plateaued in 2018. Since then, we've seen widespread removal of the headphone jack, hole punches or notches in the status bar, larger camera bumps that result in the phone not even sitting flat on a table.
I would honestly prefer no selfie camera to a display cutout.
The Dynamic Island isn't bad and serve as a useful indication method. But I would like to see a simple phone that sit flat on the table. And I am willing to pay $100 more for a solid state battery.
Right now I feel the whole industry is milking it for as long as possible. We are fast approaching 20 years anniversary of iPhone. ( Gosh I still remember the introductory keynote )
